👋 Hello Friends,

I hope you’re all enjoying the summer!

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Boston, where I had the honor of filming an episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast. Are you familiar with her work? She hosts one of the world’s leading podcasts focused on health, wellness, and personal growth.

Mel and I had such a terrific conversation about all things gut health, including bloating, constipation, and the importance of gut motility. I also had the opportunity to introduce my gut garden metaphor, which became a central part of our discussion. I’m so excited for you to see the episode when it is released in approximately six to eight weeks!

While we were in Boston, my family and I also enjoyed exploring the city. We went to a Red Sox game, toured Harvard, and took a Boston Duck Tour, which traveled through the city before splashing right into the Charles River!

One of the topics Mel and I discussed was gut motility.

So, how has your motility been lately?

In my new short video, I compare MiraLAX, also known as polyethylene glycol, with magnesium for constipation.

Watch the video above to find out which one I prefer—and why.

My Favorite Treatments for Constipation

1) Essential Magnesium 2-4 capsules at bedtime
2) Motility Activator 1-2 capsules at bedtime
3) If needed:
Aloe Pro 1 capsule at bedtime (as needed)
4)
Prebiotic Fiber to soften and bulk the stools
5) Probiotic 100 Billion or Probiotic 225 Billion

👩⚕️Cyclospora: Dr. Rajsree's Tips

1. Don’t stop eating vegetables.
There are still plenty of vegetables you can eat. If you're craving a salad (especially in this hot summer weather), choose arugula or baby spinach salads instead of recalled iceberg lettuce products.

2. Support a resilient microbiome.
Include fermented foods such as yogurt or kefir, and consider a broad-spectrum probiotic like our
Probiotic 100 Billion and S. Boulardii, a beneficial probiotic yeast that supports gut-barrier health and has demonstrated antiparasitic activity in some studies.

3. Watch for persistent watery diarrhea.
Symptoms may not begin right away and can appear up to two weeks after exposure. Ask your doctor to test specifically for Cyclospora.

4. If you test positive, ask about Alinia.
Bactrim (a broad-spectrum antibiotic) is the standard treatment, but ask about nitazoxanide, or Alinia, which is an antiparasitic option, and less likely to wipe out good bacteria in your microbiome.

5. Support your gut during recovery.
Use an Electrolyte Powder
for hydration. I also like IgG Guard to help calm inflammation and bind toxins, as well as and a broad-spectrum probiotic with S. boulardii to help restore the gut lining and microbiome like Probiotic 100 Billion + S. Boulardii or Probiotic 20 Billion with S. Boulardii.

Peach and Arugula Salad

This is one of my favorite, most refreshing summer salads. The sweetness of ripe peaches, the peppery bite of arugula, and the bright citrus dressing make a heavenly combination.

Serves 2

Ingredients

4 cups arugula
2 ripe organic peaches, sliced
1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced
1/3 cup toasted pecans
Optional: 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese or feta

Dressing

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Whisk together the dressing ingredients. Toss with the arugula, peaches, red onion, pecans, and optional cheese.

Enjoy!

Thanks for following along and letting me share a little of my summer with you.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and have a healthy, happy week!
