Red yeast rice is made by fermenting a type of yeast called Monascus purpureus over red rice.
Red yeast rice is used to reduce cholesterol levels. It has excellent clinical efficacy and I have seen great results over the years in helping patients reduce LDL (bad cholesterol) levels. It is gentler than most statins medications, but does work through a similar pathway inhibiting an enzyme in the liver (HMG-CoA), so I recommend pairing it with the antioxidant, CoQ 10 300 mg.
The red yeast rice in this product is USDA certified organic and grown in the US. It has been 3rd party tested to ensure it has therapeutic levels of the active compound, Monacolin K, and undetectable levels of contaminants.
Suggested Dose: 2 capsules daily at bedtime, or with dinner. Be sure to take additional CoQ 10 300 mg once daily with food.
Allergens: Free of gluten and dairy. This product may contain soy (see details in FAQ below). It comes in a vegetarian capsule.
